In August and September 2019 I curated three digital theatre residencies as part of my role as Digital Thinker at the National Theatre of Scotland.
The residencies explored different models of collaboration between theatre artists and creative technologists as well as exploring the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies in theatre practice.
The participating artists were:
- Theatre artist Leonie Rae Gasson with Daisy Abbott and Shona Noble from Glasgow School of Art’s School of Simulation and Visualisation.
- Theatre director and designer Kai Fischer who worked with digital design company ISO Design.
- Harry Wilson worked with visual artist and theatre designer Rachel O’Neill, computing scientist Julie Williamson, University of Glasgow and digital artists Dennis and Debbie Club.
The projects culminated in three practice sharings at ISO Design’s studio in the Merchant City and National Theatre of Scotland’s Rockvilla building in Glasgow on 18th & 19th September 2019.
